Tochigi Knowledge

Historical Context
Nikko houses the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The Nasu area has been a hot spring retreat for centuries, famous for the 'Killing Stone' legend.
Local Folklore
The most famous legend is the Sessho-seki (Killing Stone) of Nasu, the transformed corpse of the evil Nine-Tailed Fox, Tamamo-no-Mae.
